Arbaaz Khan decides to direct 'Dabangg' 2: Director Abhinav Kashyap cocktailed an entertaining mix of realism and Bollywood masala in his debut film Dabangg which broke box office records. Alas, he’s been axed from the film’s sequel.
Arbaaz Khan, the producer of Dabangg, has decided to hold the directorial reins himself in Dabangg 2, starring Salman Khan (who else?) in the lead role.
Arbaaz confirmed this on his twitter page.
“Hey guys it true, I will be directing the sequel of Dabangg. Abhinav for some personal and professional reasons opted out,” Arbaaz wrote.
Arbaaz went on to add that the shooting of the film will not start before January 2012.
“Scripting has already started, the filming starts by early January. Start sound, camera , action :)”
We wonder if Dabangg sequel will have the same raw energy without Kashyap!
But Arbaaz seems confident.
“Inshallah Dabangg 2 will live up to all the expectations and be a huge blockbuster because of you all. God bless .Allah hafiz. Dabangg ho!” he wrote.
Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha 'Joker' song shoot enjoys with sadhus: Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha shot with real sadhus for their song in the movie Joker.
The song was being shot by Farah Khan and hubby Shirish Kunder in Chandigarh when the duo spotted a procession of sadhus passing by on the day of Mahashivratri. Immediately the duo hit upon the idea of having the sadhus shoot with Akshay and Sonakshi for the song. The holy men, known to renounce the things and ways of the world, were initially reluctant to shoot for the film, but when Farah persuaded them that they were required for just one shot, they agreed.
So kicked was Kunder by this little cameo by the sadhus that he also made the extras on the sets dress up like sadhus.
More than anything, Akshay and Sonakshi enjoyed the company of the sadhus, as is evident from this pic.
Checkout Gauhar Khan in the swimming pool: Gauhar Khan, who played the sassy secretary in Rocket Singh - Salesman of the Year, recently shot for a photoshoot in a swimming pool.
Now, before you jump to the fanciful notion that Gauhar donned a bikini for the shoot, let’s blow the smoke away by stating that Gauhar was dressed in a backless golden gown for the shoot, which she called her personal project. A pool shoot in a gown may sound absurd, but Gauhar did look smashing posing for lensman Haider Khan.
Gauhar will next be seen in the action thriller Game with Abhishek Bachchan and Sarah Jane Dias. Speaking about the film, Gauhar said that it’s a very stylish movie and will have her doing stunts as well.
When asked who was a better co-star Abhishek or Ranbir Kapoor, Gauhar said it was hard to choose as both of them had their unique positive qualities. Gauhar called Abhishek “very professional”.
Katrina Kaif-Ranbir Kapoor team up again: Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor are the hottest pair in tinsel town. No doubt, they top the wishlist of producers making celluloid love stories.
Just a few days back we reported about Ranbir Kapoor being signed up to play a medieval warrior in the remake of the Telugu superhit Magadheera. Now, we hear that Katrina Kaif is billed to bag the role of the princess the warrior is sworn to protect. In the original film, Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal wowed the fans with their sparkling chemistry. In the Hindi remake, to be produced by Madhu Mantena (producer of Ghajini), Ranbir and Katrina will recreate the eternal romance.
The film tells the story of a warrior who protects the princess of his kingdom, only to be killed and born again 400 years later to take his revenge. It’s essentially a love story between the warrior and the princess.
Given the subject, the director S S Rajamouli (director of Magadheera) and producer Mantena feel they need a couple who can bring out the passion on screen in the Hindi remake. Obviously, Ranbir and Katrina top their wishlist.
After all they do look good together, not just off the screen.
