Rajinikanth romancing with Rekha, Vidya and Deepika!: If Endhiran left us with dropped jaws because of its Rajini mania, Rana promises a thrice over treat for Rajinikanth’s fans.
The film will have the south mega star playing three roles and obviously there will be three leading ladies opposite him. From the day the project was announced, speculation has been rife as to who will bag the coveted parts.
Rekha was the first to be named. Deepika Padukone was too busy to commit to the project initially, but walked out of Housefull sequel to take out dates for Rajinikanth. For the third lady, several names were being touted, including the likes of Katrina Kaif and Asin. But guess what? It’s Vidya Balan who’s learnt to have clinched the role.
The reason for the choice of actresses could be that all three are originally from the south and therefore will have no problem with dialogues.
The movie, to be directed by KS Ravi Kumar, will apparently have Rajini playing an old man, a middle-aged man, and a young man.
Rajinikanth pairs up with Rekha for his next!: It seems Rajinikanth’s next film Rana is facing casting crisis. After Deepika Padukone, no other actress has been confirmed for the film. Now, rumours have it that Rekha is approached to pair opposite Rajinikanth.
Rana just like Robot is going to be a big film to be released in many languages, and in the film the fans of the superstar will be treated with three Rajinis. In Robot (Endhiran) there were two. Yes and that also means Rajini will romance three different actresses. Recently, rumours were rife that Rajini is keen to sign Madhuri Dixit for one of the roles, but the actress said no. Rekha’s gracious, gorgeous looks still make many men go weak at their knees. Rajnikant has even worked with her in two films. In fact, his last Hindi film Bulandi had Rekha. As for now, we can just wait to see whom Rajinikanth gets to romance on big screen.
Most of Rajinikanth’s recent films have seen the superstar with young actresses like Shriya Saran and Aishwarya Rai.

For we hear that when Katrina Kaif, on whom the song is originally filmed in Tees Maar Khan, was rehearsing her steps for a stage performance during an award show, Rekha spotted Kat and asked her to teach the ‘Sheila’ dance steps. Well, we know the shimmy and butt-wiggle of Sheila isn’t exactly the kind of dance Rekha was known for in her heydays, but the diva did jive to the belly dance that Kat so happily demonstrated her.
