Imran Khan's honeymoon canceled for work: Work is worship, even when the devotee happens to be a newly-wed guy. Yes, Imran Khan has put his honeymoon with the beautiful wife Avantika Malik on hold because he’s got professional commitments to answer.
The couple got married last month and had a brief celebratory getaway on an island near Bangkok with close family and friends. Thereafter, Imran was supposed to take Avantika for an uninterrupted honeymoon to an exotic island, possibly Hawaii, but the actor’s Bollywood projects have spoiled the fun.
We hear that Imran will now commit himself to the shooting of his two films -- Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with Katrina Kaif and Short Term Shaadi with Kareena Kapoor -- till the middle of this year. As a consolation he has promised Avantika to make up for the lost honeymoon later on. But we think when it comes to honeymoon, timing is everything. It’s got to be right after the wedding, when a couple is still letting the fact of their matrimony sink in.
Imran Khan and Avantika Marriage: wish a happy married life: Bollywood's chocolate boy Imran Khan married long time girlfriend Avantika Malik in Mumbai on Monday.
The couple is off to Thailand on Tuesday for their honeymoon but not alone - 50 guests will be accompanying the newly-weds. Imran, who had been dating Avantika for the past eight years, had a registered marriage at his superstar uncle Aamir Khan's house in Pali Hill.
After the wedding, Imran came to his house with his newlywed wife in a black Porsche decorated with white flags with "Just Married" written on them. The house was decorated with flowers and lights
Both wore beautiful traditional wedding costumes - Avantika was wearing a light grey lehenga choli with a red border and gold work and Imran was dressed in a black bandhgala.
"I'm not feeling married right now, it will take some time to sink in. I'm very happy" Imran said.
Asked how he felt after breaking the hearts of his female fans, the 27-year-old said: "I've been in a relationship for the past eight years so the point of breaking hearts doesn't arise. Everyone always knew that I'm dating and was never single, so getting married is nothing new."
Imran's maternal uncle, Aamir was dressed in black sherwani with self-print and a maroon churidar and his wife Kiran Rao went traditional too, donning a purple-gold lehenga choli.
"We are very happy for both of them and all our blessing are with them. I hope they have a happy married life and have lots of kids," said a visibly elated Aamir.
The actor will be hosting a grand reception once the couple returns from their honeymoon. The date has not been fixed, but it is scheduled for the end of this month.
After the wedding, the couple hosted a quiet dinner for close family and friends at Taj Lands End Hotel.
Samaylive team wishes both of them a ‘Happy Married Life’. You can also wish Imran and Avantika with us.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik to fly off to Thailand: From Friday to Monday, he cancelled all his work appointments to participate in the wedding ceremonies of his nephew Imran Khan and Avantika Malik. But on Tuesday night, when the two families and their closest friends head to Phuket for a three-day celebration, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao will not board the flight. The reason: they need to complete the pending work on their forthcoming film, Dhobi Ghat, which releases on January 21.
The mehendi and music party at the Maliks’ farmhouse on Saturday, the registration of Imran and Avantika’s wedding at the Khan residence — 24, Pali Hill — on Monday and a dinner with both the families at the Taj Land’s End, will be the last of the celebrations Aamir and Kiran will be part of. They will then attend the reception on February 5. On Tuesday, the newly married couple will fly off to Thailand with a group of 50 people. Apart from their parents, Mansoor Khan with his wife and children, Aamir’s sisters Nikhat and Farhat with their kids, his mother Zeenat Hussain, too are part of this three-day function.
“The families have booked Marriott’s Khao Lak island resort, about an hour away from Phuket, where the celebrations will continue for three days. The couple’s friends will conduct a wedding ceremony where Imran and Avantika will exchange their wedding vows, which they’ve been writing for the last few days,” reveals a friend of the family.
It is believed that Avantika chose this destination for its pristine white sand beach stretches that meet the exquisite azure waters as well as the lush tropical greenery, granite mountains and beautiful waterfalls. Aamir’s official spokesperson confirmed the actor-filmmaker absence saying, “It’s Avantika’s idea and she has done all the bookings and logistic arrangements. While both sides helped put up all the parties, this Khao Lak trip is completely Avantika’s brainchild.”
Though the families were keen to have Aamir and Kiran accompany them, the couple, which is wrapping up the post-production of Dhobi Ghat, opted out with a heavy heart. They were unavailable for comment.
Imran Khan and Avantika's wedding dresses will designs by Karan Johar: With just a few days to go for his wedding, Imran Khan is still tied up with the shoot of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. In the meantime, his dulhan-to-be, Avantika has been shouldering the stress of wedding planning. Now, Karan Johar has come to their rescue. For starters, Karan has taken the responsibility of designing the wedding dresses of both Imran and Avantika. He has gotten in touch with his friends Manish Malhotra and Varun Bahl, both designers, and given them specific instruction about wedding dresses.
We hear that an ashen-orange coloured lehenga is being designed for Avantika. Imran will be given a traditional dress for the Mehendi ceremony on January 8 and a western suit for the wedding on January 10.
Not just for Imran and Avantika, KJo is also designing a dress for Aamir Khan, Imran’s mamujaan, and his son Junaid.
Imran is deeply touched by all the effort that K-Jo is making for their wedding.
Imran Khan's wedding Party held on Jan 8: Ahead of his wedding on January 10, actor Imran Khan will host a mehendi-cum-reception party to which he has invited all his leading ladies apart from other Bollywood A-listers.
The actresses are really going out of their way to be a part of it except for Katrina and Sonam who have dropped out due to prior work commitments. Imran is all set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend and fiancee Avantika Malik on January 10.
The wedding party has been planned for January 8. Sources close to the actor said Imran wants to invite all his friends to be part of the celebrations.
"The invitations have reached everyone and the guest list is quite a long one. Imran wanted to invite all the leading ladies of his films to be part of the most important day of his life. Unfortunately, Katrina Kaif will shoot with Imran for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan only till January 6. She will not attend his party, as she has some work commitments.
Also Sonam Kapoor, Imran's I Hate Luv Storys co-star, is also flying out of the country to start shooting for Thank You and hence will not attend his party.
However, Genelia D'souza, the actor's first co-star, is in town, so she will attend the party. Kareena Kapoor his co-star in Short Term Shaadi, is currently taking a break from her work schedule to be with Saif but she too will cut short her vacation to attend the bash.
Kareena, who was initially scheduled to return only around January 14, wants to be with Imran on his big day.
Deepika Padukone, Imran's 'Break Ke Baad' co-star, is vacationing in UK and she too will cut short her vacation to attend his party in Mumbai, sources close to the actor said.
