Salman Khan is like awesome Superstar: Shahid Kapoor: Salman Khan is the undisputed entertainer of the Hindi film industry, declares Shahid Kapoor, uniting he could not even attempt to imitate his favourite actor.
"I don't think anybody can be Salman Khan. And I don't think anybody should try and be like him. There is only one Salman Khan and I am sure he is not trying to be like someone else," Shahid Kapoor told news people when he was asked in the event that he feels a distinct desire to be an entertainer prefer Salman Khan.
"I am a huge fan of him and enjoy his work. I am not trying to be someone else and I am trying to create an identity for myself," the 31-year-old stated.
Shahid Kapoor's following release is director Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani and he has been matched with his previous rumoured lady friend Priyanka Chopra in it.

Shahid Kapoor in Karan Johar’s next: This one was long due! Well, the little birdies are chirping that Shahid Kapoor will soon be seen in a movie which will be filmed under Karan Johar’s banner, Dharma Productions.
The movie will reportedly be directed by Punit Malhotra of the I Hate Luv Storys fame! Earlier, the movie was to be filmed with Imran Khan as the lead actor; however, he was replaced by Shahid Kapoor. It’s a notable fact that Shahid Kapoor was offered a role in Kaal by Karan Johar in 2005! But Shahid Kapoor declined the role since Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar were on sour terms at that time! Kareena Kapoor was apparently replaced by Preity Zinta for Kal Ho Na Ho which turned out to be a blockbuster; and back then, Shahid and Kareena were lovers!
However, while Shahid Kapoor’s fans must be really having a good time reading this news, there’s some disappointment for the fans of Sonam Kapoor; Shahid Kapoor’s gain is Sonam Kapoor’s loss! Sonam was supposed to be cast in the movie! But since Sonam and Shahid’s Mausam jodi was a dud at the BO, Karan thought it would be better to cast someone else as the female lead!

Shahid Kapoor with VJ Bani spotted together?: Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor appears to be appreciating his single-again status these days.
Although he has made up with Priyanka Chopra and brought her out for a ride on his Harley Davidson a few days back, Shahid Kapoor remains non-committal in the connection. No big surprise he was just spotted at a Bandra joint, liking the sustenance and sips with VJ Bani. Bani has affirmed the excursion with Shahid. She declares that she and Shahid head off to the same exercise center and even work-out as one at times.

He screamed for help but by then all the four stars had left in one single car". Also the source confirms, "Anushka was seated right in the centre in the car". Perhaps after what happened to Ranbir Kapoor when the paparazzi clicked him and Nargis Fakhri a few days ago, the actor seems to be making extra efforts to stay off the camera. But conspicuous by her absence was Priyanka, who reportedly had a fight with Shahid and then flew to the US. Shahid and Priyanka’s perpetually now-on-now-off relationship has been fodder to gossip mills, but sources close to the couple claim that Shahid doesn’t often express his affection for Priyanka and this ticks her off.
That’s apparently also the reason behind their latest tiff, following which Priyanka packed her bags and left to the US, caring not a hoot to return on his birthday on Saturday.
But we hear that Shahid did try to persuade her to change her mind and return to Mumbai for his birthday bash. He kept trying till the last hour, but when Priyanka did not give any bhav, he too gave up.

Director Kunal Kohli is readying to direct his next film which will be an out and out love story spanning a time period of 100 years. The lead roles in the film will be played by Priyanka and Shahid, who, as everyone from the movie buffs to income tax guys know, are in a relationship.
When Priyanka heard the narration of this century-long love story, that too with Shahid, she was reportedly so thrilled that she made changes in her dates diary to accommodate Kunal’s film, likely to go on the floors in May this year. Presently, Kunal is finalizing the shooting locations for the film. He hasn’t zeroed down on the movie’s title yet, but is open to suggestions.

The actor, who plays an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer in dad Pankaj Kapur’s directorial debut Mausam had a thrilling experience of flying the F-16 IN Super Viper by Lockheed Martin, piloted by the American test pilot Paul ‘Bear’ Randall.
It was a 40-minute flight which had its share of turns, loops and tailspins.
“I wanted to get a first-hand experience of flying on a fighter aircraft. Thanks to Lockheed Martin, I have had the privilege of becoming the first actor to fly the F-16. Such an opportunity doesn’t come by as a civilian,” Shahid told the reporters after the flight.
Shahid was clearly overwhelmed by the experience.
“It's a great experience and I learnt how to fly a fighter (plane). Paul (the pilot) gave me lot of tips about flying such an awesome military aircraft and I am thankful to Lockheed Martin,” he said.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise flew in a F 15 for his role in “Top Guns”.
“Mausam” is the directorial debut of his father, actor Pankaj Kapoor.
The film stars Sonam Kapoor in the female lead and some parts have been shot in Scotland.
Shahid Kapoor will be the world's first actor to fly the F-16 fighter: Shahid Kapoor will be the first actor in the world to fly the F-16 IN Super Viper fighter plane. He will be participating in the Aero India 2011 show, in Bangalore, where he will fly the plane on February 11.
Uptill date, no actor has got a chance to sit in one of the fastest flying planes in the world. A source revealed that the actor has been preparing for this for the last few months. "He's gone through rigorous training for the last one month and will continue to do so till his flying date. Apart from the training, there are a number of medical tests that need to be approved before he can actually sit in the cockpit.
Most of these tests are related to flying at a very high velocity and making sure the person doesn't suffer from motion sickness. Till now he's passed most of the medical tests and there are a couple more which will happen in the coming days."
Before Shahid gets into the cockpit he will run a flight simulation test which will be like flying the actual flight under the same conditions. He will then fly the plane at the Indian Air Force Station Yelahanka, as a part of the show which goes on air from February 9 to 13.
Other than Shahid, Ratan Tata has been the only other Indian to have got permission to fly the F16. Tata flew 20 minutes in a twin seat F-16 at the 2007 Aero India Show.
Incidentally, Shahid plays an Air Force pilot in his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut Mausam, opposite Sonam Kapoor. As a part of his role, he's getting acquainted with the various aspects of fighter planes and also meeting air-force personnel to get in depth knowledge.
Sheetal Talwar producer of Mausam confirms, "Yes, Shahid will be flying the F 16. He will get the opportunity to feel the thrills and the major adrenaline rush that a pilot goes through during course of duty."
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor now friends again?: Well, it’s a season of patch-ups in Bollywood and taking the cue are former lovers Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
There has been an uneasy chill between Shasha and Bebo ever since the two broke up during the days their film Jab We Met released. This chill was quite apparent whenever the duo was in close proximity of each other, be it at a party or an award function. They would avoid each other without fail. But the scene at the 56th Filmfare Awards on Saturday night was different.
From what we hear, Kareena was walking by when she spotted Shahid and Shahrukh Khan having an animated conversation. Since she couldn’t walk past SRK without exchanging pleasantries, Kareena did approach the duo. What followed was a friendly chat between Shahid and Kareena after what seems like ages.

You turn 30 next month. How different are you from the time you entered Bollywood seven years ago? Thank you for reminding me (smiles), but it hasn't really sunk in yet. I really believe that the best years of my life are starting now. I've worked enough now to feel at ease with what I am and who I am. Also, God has been very kind. I've done some very good work, and whether or not my films do well, I always get offered good work. The work comes because of luck or hard work? I feel very proud of the fact that I have pretty much done all of it on my own. When I look back, I feel fortunate to be where I am. In this profession, it's not easy to make it on your own as it's very unpredictable, and has its ups and downs. It becomes easier when you are from the industry, but my father, even though an actor, was very much away from it. So, I wasn't exposed to people. My beginning was very humble.
You had no advantage then and struggled like any other person would? Oh yes. I believe I've made a lot of mistakes. I have done some things right but I have committed a lot of mistakes. But even after making those mistakes, to be where I am, I am fortunate. So, am really happy doing what I am doing and I have survived 7 years, and am hoping to survive another 17, probably 20 years, and do work that I am proud of. In fact, it's in the recent past that I've done work that I'm really proud of, actually in the last 3-4 years, that I am doing work that I like, love, enjoy, and am proud of. Till then, I was finding my own identity. It's a very interesting phase, the best years from a work point of view are yet to come and the best years from a personal point of view are yet to come, and I think I am my own person now and I am comfortable with who I am. I think it's only when you are comfortable with who you are that you can have stability in your personal space or in any relationship.
Yes, we've noticed that you are now quite comfortable being spotted with a certain someone who you are being seen with. You also said that in a recent interview, right? The question that was posed was that the media is linking you with people and you're not responding, and my answer was that I would never be governed by what the media says about my personal life because it would be a very restricted and scary place to be in. I will live my life the way that I do and I've learnt that it's a part of the profession and that things will be written about you and people would want to speculate. And I am not going to get scared or get worried about that and not live my life. I think that I am answerable to the people that I am answerable to and not to the media as such regarding my personal life. I think professionally, there's a huge amount of interaction happening with people...
Yes, you are less uptight now. Yes, everyone tells me that. You know, I was very scared and very shy and people thought I was uptight, maybe it came across like that and I am very sorry if it did. Abhi toh I know everybody in the media, so I have a personal equation with people, and I have reached that point of comfort where I can open up and say what I feel and not feel any pressure. There used to be a point at which I used to feel a lot of pressure maybe because I was very new and I was still finding my ground, professionally. And it was very upsetting to constantly answer about your personal life. Then one day I just decided that I am not going to answer, write what you want. Life became a lot simpler after that and I think it became simpler for everybody, even for the media and for me.
What mistakes were you referring to earlier? Lots of mistakes ya... I had no experience, so I used to do films for different reasons. At times I would do a film because I was excited about working with a certain director, sometimes I would be insecure about sitting at home, sometimes because my girlfriend (We assume he means Kareena!) was in it, different reasons, sometimes even because people used to tell me to.
You did movies because your girlfriend was in it? Ya, and I am very honest about it. Sometimes I did a movie because everyone told me that you must do this film and you cannot say no to these people and then over time I realised that you know success is really periodic. It'll keep changing. What matters is satisfaction. And what's most important is to find success where you are happy and not run after it. So, I stopped. Three or four years ago I stopped running... of course, it's most important in this profession to be successful. But the idea should not be to run after that. Do work that you believe in and that makes you happy. That's what I am doing right now – trying to work with likeminded people, trying to work with people who I think I can talk to about films , who I think think similarly.
No emotional decisions anymore? I wouldn't say those were emotional decisions, I just think there was lack of experience, so I was trying everything. Acha yaar aisa bhi try kar lete hain... waisa bhi try kar lete hain... Then, it's only over a period of time that you discover yourself as an actor and the person, which I think I have in the last few years. So, I feel comfortable now taking decisions.
You struggled because you were Pankaj Kapoor's son? Maybe even worse because there were more expectations and I think when you are Pankaj Kapoor's son, everyone's like yaar isko acting toh aani chahiye. I had no advantage of getting a free launch or anything.
You came without a free launch, but were declared a superstar in the making. Unfortunately, you've always been a step or two behind that title... That's ok, I don't live my life by titles. I feel terrible about the comparisons with everybody because I feel I am really undeserving of being compared to someone like a Shah Rukh Khan or Aamir Khan or any of these people who have had such achievements. There's a long way for me to go and I don't want that pressure on me, frankly. Like I said, it's not easy when you don't have anyone backing you.
Even without the backing, have you achieved everything you wanted to by the time you are 30? I have a lot more than what I had expected. But there's too much more that I need to do and I am ready to work day and night for it. I remember, Will Smith said this one very beautiful sentence, which for me has become my mantra. I was watching his interview sometime after "Hancock", when he was being touted as the biggest star in Hollywood and that's very surprising with actors like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt around and he said, "You can be better looking than me, you can have a better body that me, you can be a better actor than me but when you run with me on the treadmill, I will outrun you." That was very beautiful, he said that I work harder than anyone else and that's what makes me what I am. That's my mantra – I'm ready to work harder than anyone.
Income Tax officers finds Shahid Kapoor in Priyanka Chopra's home: Income Tax officers, who went to raid Priyanka Chopra's home yesterday morning, were in for a surprise when they were greeted by Shahid Kapoor clad only in his shorts.
"If I woke up as Priyanka Chopra one day, I would wonder what I was doing in Shahid Kapoor's bedroom and then walk over to my flat in the next wing," actor Shahid Kapoor had famously said on a popular chat show barely a month ago. Little did he know that the statement would come back to bite him. For a moment, they thought they had knocked the wrong door. Apparently, Shahid left the house soon after.
"Shahid was at Priyanka's house, but he didn't open the door. She has servants, so why would he open the door? Shahid had spent the night at Priyanka's place and she had come from walking the ramp at a fashion show for Shabana Azmi. The two are trying to spend as much time together before Priyanka starts the promotions for her movie Saat Khoon Maaf," said a source close to Shahid.
"Shocked as we were, we knew we had a raid to carry out and that's precisely what we did. It was meant to be a swift operation and security personnel in the building were not given a chance to warn the actor that we were on the way up," said an I-T official.
Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor were unavailable for comment.
