Shahrukh Khan's 'Zor Ka Jhatka' show rejected on the boob tube: It’s Shahrukh Khan who has got Zor Ka Jhatka, that too for the second time on boob tube.

The television show Zor Ka Jhatka hosted by Shahrukh and shot in Argentina has been getting dismally low TRPs ever since it went on air on Feb 1. It’s TVR on the opening day was 2.6, which is shockingly low for any show hosted by a major Bollywood star on TV. But more shocking is how the show’s TVR has dipped steadily to the range of 1.3 to 0.8.

This is the second time Shahrukh has faced rejection on the small screen after his show Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hai flopped three years ago.

In fact, Zor Ka Jhatka has got even lesser viewership than Rakhi Ka Insaaf.

Some feel that Shahrukh has not fully committed himself to the show. He did not fly to Argentina to shoot with the contestants but rather shot his portions in a studio. His shots were added to the Argentina shoot on the editing table to give the impression that he was on location.
Vidya Balan to plane for an engagement with Siddharth Roy Kapoor?: Vidya Balan and her rumoured boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur are said to be thinking of getting engaged.

The actress has been spotted with the head honcho of UTV Motion Pictures on more occasion than one, thereby sparking the rumours that something is indeed brewing between them. The latest was their outing together on the sandy beaches of Goa. The duo was clicked in casual beach wear while holidaying together.

Apparently, Sid and Vid have been friends for some time since he stays in her neighbourhood.

But the couple are wary of being linked together because Siddharth’s divorce from his wife is yet to come through. Naturally, they are likely to play down the reports of their engagement.

Vidya’s spokesperson says just because Vidya is friendly with someone doesn’t mean she will get engaged to him.

We, however, will wait to see how this ‘love story’ unfolds.
Box Office Report: 'Tanu Weds Manu' gives positive response: This Friday’s release Tanu Weds Manu has taken a decent start at the box office while the last week’s release 7 Khoon Maaf is going down.

Tanu Weds Manu, starring Kangana Ranaut as a rebellious small-town girl dead against arranged marriage and Madhavan as a possible suitor hand-picked by her parents, has opened to a fairly good 40 percent response at ticket windows. Though the response was more heartening in north India than elsewhere, the film is expected to perform well over the weekend and the coming weeks because it doesn’t any stiff competition at box office.

Vishal Bhardwaj’s much hyped 7 Khoon Maaf has turned out to be a colossal disappointment. It rounded off its first week with a collection of Rs. 15 crore nett.

Likewise, Patiala House completed its two-week run at box office with a total business of Rs. 30.50 crore so far. It’s being labelled a flop.

The coming month would see no big releases from Bollywood due to the ongoing cricket world cup and also because of the examinations in schools and colleges. It’s that time of the year when the box office goes into doldrums.

Ranbir Kapoor play as a medieval warrior!: If things go as planned, Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of a medieval warrior in the remake of a Telugu superhit Magadheera, a film based on reincarnation. So after Ranbir’s Rockstar look, be ready to watch him as a braveheart soldier.

No less than a treat for Ranbir’s fans it’s gonna be as the actor also likes to experiment. The Magadheera remake is going to be a big budget film. We hear that the director of the original S S Rajamouli has been retained for the film which is going to be made on a whopping Rs 90 crore.

When Ranbir heard the script he was thrilled because he always wanted to do a costume drama. Though the film is on the theme of reincarnation, it will also have a contemporary setting. The character demands a lean yet handsome boy with a calm persona and go-getter attitude. So, the debonair Ranbir is perfect for it.

Ghajini producer Madhu Mantena is going to produce the film, but an official confirmation from the makers is awaited.

Magadheera is about a warrior who protects the princess of his kingdom, only to be killed and born again 400 years later to take his revenge. It’s essentially a love story between the warrior played by Ram Charan Teja and the princess essayed by Kajal Aggarwal. The movie also won National Award for best special effects and best film in Telugu language.
'Tanu Weds Manu' Review: A seedha saadha NRI doc Manu (Madhavan) who claims to have resided more than a decade without any close friends in London comes to India on a bride hunt and finds a suitable one in the wispy form of a pot-smoking, vodka-guzzling Kanpuri kudi Tanu (Kangana Ranaut). It’s a mismatch as odd as it gets, because though he falls head-over-heels for this foul-mouthed chatterbox, she is dead against the arranged match and instead wants to hook up with a Lucknow gunda named Raja (Jimmy Shergill).

Manu, the poor soul, nurses the heartbreak and even helps Tanu and her goon beau elope. The plot thickens when Tanu and Manu cross paths against the backdrop of a big fat Punjabi wedding. Love for Manu seems to be taking root in Tanu’s heart, but then Raja rears his head. Drama, peppered with clichéd emotional conflicts and standoffs between the two suitors follow, and, given the film’s title, we know whom Tanu will eventually choose.

The predictability of the plot is well compensated by the melee of oddball characters that director Anand L Rai crowds the story with. There’s is an utterly likeable sidekick (Deepak Dobriyal) and a Sikh friend (Eijaz Khan) of Manu adding fun to the proceedings. There’s Raja’s crony (Ravi Kishen) and Tanu’s best friend (Swara Bhaskar) chipping in from the margins. And full credit to director Rai for the brisk pace at which the first half unspools. Alas, the same can’t be said of the second half, when the story stagnates and we see more of Jimmy Shergill than would have liked to. It’s a clear case of a story losing its steam after a triumphant start. Even the build-up to the climax is somewhat overblown.

Warts and all, Tanu Weds Manu still remains a watchable fare thanks to the wonderfully realistic milieu of India’s crowded, dusty small towns and their middle-class families with their colourful characters that remain pivotal to the story until the very end. On top of it, music by Krsna breezes with vim and vigour. The humour mostly remains light-hearted, sometimes evoking laughs, sometimes falling flat.

Kangana performs well as a small town rebel without a pause. Her body language is decidedly bratty, her dialogue delivery, at times bordering on lisp, creditably raw and edgy to suit her character. Madhavan shines as a submissive, love-struck NRI with no firangi airs. The actor’s naturally charming persona adds tons to his character’s credibility.

On the sidelines, Deepak Dobriyal impresses the most while Ravi Kishan is reduced to a caricature. Jimmy Shergill is all frowns but Swara Bhaskar does leave a mark as Kangana’s friend who tries to hammer some sense into the reckless Tanu.

All in all, Tanu Weds Manu is like the shaadi ka laddoo that you can neither resist nor happily bite into. Make time for this matrimonial comedy if you haven’t yet tired of watching the reruns of Jab We Met.
Katrina Kaif backs out of the contract of Royal Challengers Bangalore? The face of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Katrina Kaif, has reportedly backed out of the contract and will no longer be the brand ambassador for Vijay Mallya’s IPL cricket team.

According to reports, Katrina Kaif has opted out citing date troubles. Katrina will be in Agra to shoot for the final leg Aditya Chopra’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan during the IPL games, therefore making it difficult for her to attend the matches and cheer for the team. Thus, Kat does not see the point in continuing as the brand ambassador.

Any guesses for who is going to step into Katrina's shoes? Well, there is buzz that Deepika Padukone may replace Katrina, however this is not likely to happen as Deepika shares a close relationship with Sidhartha Mallya. We are however, likely to see Deepika alongside Sidharth at the matches, cheering for RCB.
