In writer-director Alankrita Shrivastava’s film Turning 30!!!, Gul Panag plays a talented and ambitious girl with a promising career in advertising industry.
Purab Kohli plays a photographer who’s also thirty and back in Mumbai after a long stint in London. Sid Makkar plays an investment banker and a sweet charmer of women. The supporting roles are played by Jeneva Talwar and Tillotama Shome.
Synopsis
Turning 30!!! is Naina's story as she grapples with heartbreak, and a crisis in her advertising career in the face of her 30th birthday.
And as she fights her anxiety and fears about being 30 years old, Naina realizes there's a lot of growing up to be done.
Set in the heart of urban Mumbai, Turning 30!!! Is a humorous and heart-warming take on a single young woman's journey of finding herself, discovering love and blossoming into a woman of substance.
Produced by Prakash Jha, ‘Turning 30!!!’ has music by Siddharth Suhas. It is slated to release on January 14.
South siren Silk Smitha was known for her unabashed display of sexuality on screen in the 1980s. She worked in over 200 south Indian films and her life ended mysteriously when she was found dead in her Chennai apartment in 1996. She was just 35 years old.
Director Milan Luthria, riding high on the success of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, is directing a film titled Dirty Picture on Silk Smitha and has roped in Vidya Balan for the lead role.
“I loved the script and was almost shocked that they (Milan and producers Balaji) thought of me. I was shocked and thrilled because she is so unlike me. Silk Smitha's sexuality is on your face. It is almost offensive,” Balan is quoted as saying by a news agency.
The film’s title Dirty Picture is likely to raise a few brows but Vidya thinks it’s apt.
“I think Dirty Picture is an apt title for the movie. It is reflective of our perception of her. We feel that she could not have made a pretty picture,” Balan added.
From the sombre and brooding Sabrina of No One Killed Jessica to the sexy and bawdy Silk Smitha of Dirty Picture, it would be quite a leap for Vidya. Not for nothing is she lapping up the Best Actress trophies at award functions.
It’s learnt that after seeing the huge success of Dabangg, director Kabir Khan became very eager to work with Sallu in his next which is going to be a romantic drama. As a tabloid reports Yash Raj scion Aditya Chopra too is sending out feelers to Salman for the film.
Everyone knows that Yash Raj’s blue-eyed boy is Shahrukh Khan, who has also given some of the mega hits to the banner. In the past, whenever talks were on between YRF and Salman for any project, things couldn’t materialize.
YRF hasn’t denied that the production house is in talks with stars for various upcoming projects. Kabir was initially interested in John Abraham for the role but now he has made up his mind for Salman.
Let’s see, whether the director can make this happen or not.

The duo, along with superstar Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora were in the South African city for a special show marking the 150 years of the arrival of Indians in South Africa. They gave a scintillating performance at Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban.
During the rehearsals, Shahid and Priyanka were spotted having many a fun moment together. Apparently, PC seems to like her man’s sense of humour, for that gummy smile of hers seldom faded with Shahid around.

Reveals Rujuta, "It was a jam-packed schedule. Kareena had left for Las Vegas on a 21-day shoot for Short Term Shaadi. On her return, she had to shoot for Ra.One's Chammak Challo, where she had to fit in to this sexy white dress.
To attain that perfect figure, we had a Mumbai diet charted out on her return to the city, one for her stay in Vegas another for her 24-hour flight from Mumbai to Las Vegas via London and then back again to Mumbai after the shoot ended. She lost five kilos for the Ra.One song but still ended up looking fit and fabulous."
The dietician, who is used to planning controlled diets for Kareena admits that the different diets were difficult to plan out especially the one in Vegas. "We had two diets in place one for 10 days and one for the nights. It was very tough to find the right food in Vegas as they were shooting outside.
At 4 am she would have milk shakes or milk - food that was light but enough to sustain the cold and feel enthusiastic about working."
A scene where Kareena had to eat several pancakes topped with maple syrup for a particular scene in STS during the Vegas shoot, had Rujuta worried.
"We managed to see that she ate on time. I wasn't travelling with her but was constantly in touch on the BlackBerry Messenger.
We had made diet plans when she boarded the flight. She told me the breaks she would be taking along the Mumbai-London-Las Vegas route.
There's a chef at the UK lounge, who is a huge fan of Kareena's and when she travels, she asks him to pack dabbas for her. It was quite a tough thing to plan but Kareena managed everything perfectly."
Rujuta adds, "On the Ra.One song shoot, I gave Kareena makhaana (lotus seeds) to eat as they are very nutritious and rich in minerals. She'd eat them roasted in ghee flavoured with pepper and salt. Even Shah Rukh liked it and would eat with her."
