Imran Khan and Avantika Marriage: wish a happy married life: Bollywood's chocolate boy Imran Khan married long time girlfriend Avantika Malik in Mumbai on Monday.
The couple is off to Thailand on Tuesday for their honeymoon but not alone - 50 guests will be accompanying the newly-weds. Imran, who had been dating Avantika for the past eight years, had a registered marriage at his superstar uncle Aamir Khan's house in Pali Hill.
After the wedding, Imran came to his house with his newlywed wife in a black Porsche decorated with white flags with "Just Married" written on them. The house was decorated with flowers and lights
Both wore beautiful traditional wedding costumes - Avantika was wearing a light grey lehenga choli with a red border and gold work and Imran was dressed in a black bandhgala.
"I'm not feeling married right now, it will take some time to sink in. I'm very happy" Imran said.
Asked how he felt after breaking the hearts of his female fans, the 27-year-old said: "I've been in a relationship for the past eight years so the point of breaking hearts doesn't arise. Everyone always knew that I'm dating and was never single, so getting married is nothing new."
Imran's maternal uncle, Aamir was dressed in black sherwani with self-print and a maroon churidar and his wife Kiran Rao went traditional too, donning a purple-gold lehenga choli.
"We are very happy for both of them and all our blessing are with them. I hope they have a happy married life and have lots of kids," said a visibly elated Aamir.
The actor will be hosting a grand reception once the couple returns from their honeymoon. The date has not been fixed, but it is scheduled for the end of this month.
After the wedding, the couple hosted a quiet dinner for close family and friends at Taj Lands End Hotel.
Samaylive team wishes both of them a ‘Happy Married Life’. You can also wish Imran and Avantika with us.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik to fly off to Thailand: From Friday to Monday, he cancelled all his work appointments to participate in the wedding ceremonies of his nephew Imran Khan and Avantika Malik. But on Tuesday night, when the two families and their closest friends head to Phuket for a three-day celebration, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao will not board the flight. The reason: they need to complete the pending work on their forthcoming film, Dhobi Ghat, which releases on January 21.
The mehendi and music party at the Maliks’ farmhouse on Saturday, the registration of Imran and Avantika’s wedding at the Khan residence — 24, Pali Hill — on Monday and a dinner with both the families at the Taj Land’s End, will be the last of the celebrations Aamir and Kiran will be part of. They will then attend the reception on February 5. On Tuesday, the newly married couple will fly off to Thailand with a group of 50 people. Apart from their parents, Mansoor Khan with his wife and children, Aamir’s sisters Nikhat and Farhat with their kids, his mother Zeenat Hussain, too are part of this three-day function.
“The families have booked Marriott’s Khao Lak island resort, about an hour away from Phuket, where the celebrations will continue for three days. The couple’s friends will conduct a wedding ceremony where Imran and Avantika will exchange their wedding vows, which they’ve been writing for the last few days,” reveals a friend of the family.
It is believed that Avantika chose this destination for its pristine white sand beach stretches that meet the exquisite azure waters as well as the lush tropical greenery, granite mountains and beautiful waterfalls. Aamir’s official spokesperson confirmed the actor-filmmaker absence saying, “It’s Avantika’s idea and she has done all the bookings and logistic arrangements. While both sides helped put up all the parties, this Khao Lak trip is completely Avantika’s brainchild.”
Though the families were keen to have Aamir and Kiran accompany them, the couple, which is wrapping up the post-production of Dhobi Ghat, opted out with a heavy heart. They were unavailable for comment.
Income Tax: Shahrukh Khan faces Rs 17.84cr gift Scandal: The Income Tax (IT) department summoned Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan (SRK) over Signature Villa on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The gift valued Rs 17.84 crore.
According the media report, the 'gift' was originally the reward of promoting Nakheel Public Joint Stock Company which reportedly handed over the villa to the Khans. The company, however, confirmed the IT department in Oct 2010 that SRK did not provide any professional services to the company
As Times of India reported, according to a notice issued by the IT department on Dec 27, 2010, Nakheel has been using Khan's name for endorsing its Palm Jumeirah project since 2004 on its official website as well as electronic and print media.
The notice issued by the IT department claimed, "The company is an artificial juristic person devoid of any natural senses such as love and affection. This rules out the concept 'natural love and affection' and 'without any consideration' which are vital elements to characterize the gift."

The film, slated to release on February 11, has Akshay playing a pace bowler from England. He’s a Punjabi and therefore his proud father (Rishi Kapoor) is against him playing for the goras. Now, since the film revolves around cricket, director Nikhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar decided to rope in real cricketers for authenticity sake.
We hear that the film will feature international players like Nasir Hussain, Brendon McCullum, Herschelle Gibbs, Kieron Pollard, Andrews Symonds, Kamran Akmal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Graham Gooch, Wasim Akram and Matthew Hayden.
“In the film, Akshay is playing for England and it is the World Cup that they are playing for. So it needed to have a lot of known faces to be seen with Akshay. That’s when we approached these players, sent them the script and got them on board,” Bhushan is quoted as saying by a news agency.
While most of the players will be seen on the field with Akshay, a few, like Nasir Hussain, will commentate.
