Imran Khan and Avantika Marriage: wish a happy married life: Bollywood's chocolate boy Imran Khan married long time girlfriend Avantika Malik in Mumbai on Monday.

The couple is off to Thailand on Tuesday for their honeymoon but not alone - 50 guests will be accompanying the newly-weds.

Imran, who had been dating Avantika for the past eight years, had a registered marriage at his superstar uncle Aamir Khan's house in Pali Hill.

After the wedding, Imran came to his house with his newlywed wife in a black Porsche decorated with white flags with "Just Married" written on them. The house was decorated with flowers and lights

Both wore beautiful traditional wedding costumes - Avantika was wearing a light grey lehenga choli with a red border and gold work and Imran was dressed in a black bandhgala.

"I'm not feeling married right now, it will take some time to sink in. I'm very happy" Imran said.

Asked how he felt after breaking the hearts of his female fans, the 27-year-old said: "I've been in a relationship for the past eight years so the point of breaking hearts doesn't arise. Everyone always knew that I'm dating and was never single, so getting married is nothing new."

Imran's maternal uncle, Aamir was dressed in black sherwani with self-print and a maroon churidar and his wife Kiran Rao went traditional too, donning a purple-gold lehenga choli.

"We are very happy for both of them and all our blessing are with them. I hope they have a happy married life and have lots of kids," said a visibly elated Aamir.

The actor will be hosting a grand reception once the couple returns from their honeymoon. The date has not been fixed, but it is scheduled for the end of this month.

After the wedding, the couple hosted a quiet dinner for close family and friends at Taj Lands End Hotel.

Samaylive team wishes both of them a ‘Happy Married Life’. You can also wish Imran and Avantika with us.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik to fly off to Thailand: From Friday to Monday, he cancelled all his work appointments to participate in the wedding ceremonies of his nephew Imran Khan and Avantika Malik. But on Tuesday night, when the two families and their closest friends head to Phuket for a three-day celebration, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao will not board the flight. The reason: they need to complete the pending work on their forthcoming film, Dhobi Ghat, which releases on January 21.

The mehendi and music party at the Maliks’ farmhouse on Saturday, the registration of Imran and Avantika’s wedding at the Khan residence — 24, Pali Hill — on Monday and a dinner with both the families at the Taj Land’s End, will be the last of the celebrations Aamir and Kiran will be part of. They will then attend the reception on February 5.

On Tuesday, the newly married couple will fly off to Thailand with a group of 50 people. Apart from their parents, Mansoor Khan with his wife and children, Aamir’s sisters Nikhat and Farhat with their kids, his mother Zeenat Hussain, too are part of this three-day function.

“The families have booked Marriott’s Khao Lak island resort, about an hour away from Phuket, where the celebrations will continue for three days. The couple’s friends will conduct a wedding ceremony where Imran and Avantika will exchange their wedding vows, which they’ve been writing for the last few days,” reveals a friend of the family.

It is believed that Avantika chose this destination for its pristine white sand beach stretches that meet the exquisite azure waters as well as the lush tropical greenery, granite mountains and beautiful waterfalls. Aamir’s official spokesperson confirmed the actor-filmmaker absence saying, “It’s Avantika’s idea and she has done all the bookings and logistic arrangements. While both sides helped put up all the parties, this Khao Lak trip is completely Avantika’s brainchild.”

Though the families were keen to have Aamir and Kiran accompany them, the couple, which is wrapping up the post-production of Dhobi Ghat, opted out with a heavy heart. They were unavailable for comment.

Income Tax: Shahrukh Khan faces Rs 17.84cr gift Scandal: The Income Tax (IT) department summoned Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan (SRK) over Signature Villa on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. The gift valued Rs 17.84 crore.

According the media report, the 'gift' was originally the reward of promoting Nakheel Public Joint Stock Company which reportedly handed over the villa to the Khans.

The company, however, confirmed the IT department in Oct 2010 that SRK did not provide any professional services to the company

As Times of India reported, according to a notice issued by the IT department on Dec 27, 2010, Nakheel has been using Khan's name for endorsing its Palm Jumeirah project since 2004 on its official website as well as electronic and print media.

The notice issued by the IT department claimed, "The company is an artificial juristic person devoid of any natural senses such as love and affection. This rules out the concept 'natural love and affection' and 'without any consideration' which are vital elements to characterize the gift."

Akshay Kumar to play with cricket legends in 'Patiala House'!: In the upcoming film Patiala House, Akshay Kumar gets to share screen space with real cricketers from the world over.
Download Wallpaper
The film, slated to release on February 11, has Akshay playing a pace bowler from England. He’s a Punjabi and therefore his proud father (Rishi Kapoor) is against him playing for the goras.

Now, since the film revolves around cricket, director Nikhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar decided to rope in real cricketers for authenticity sake.

We hear that the film will feature international players like Nasir Hussain, Brendon McCullum, Herschelle Gibbs, Kieron Pollard, Andrews Symonds, Kamran Akmal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Graham Gooch, Wasim Akram and Matthew Hayden.

“In the film, Akshay is playing for England and it is the World Cup that they are playing for. So it needed to have a lot of known faces to be seen with Akshay. That’s when we approached these players, sent them the script and got them on board,” Bhushan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

While most of the players will be seen on the field with Akshay, a few, like Nasir Hussain, will commentate.
Kangana Ranaut reject offer for Hrithik’s ‘Krissh’ sequel: When Hrithik Roshan and papa Rakesh Roshan approached Kangana Ranaut for Krissh sequel, the actress politely turned down the offer. Why?

The buzz is that Kangana was the first choice for second lead opposite Hrithik, who will again don the superhero garb for the sequel to the hit Krissh. The Roshans apparently asked Kangana for a role that is on the lines of catwoman. Yes, a super-heroine! Though the offer looked lucrative, Kangs has vowed not to play the second fiddle anymore. Krissh has Priyanka Chopra as the main actress.

Reports also have it that the Roshans tried to woo the actress by telling her that the role requires a lot of action and that it’s written keeping her in mind, but Kangs remained unperturbed. She has played second lead in some of her recent flicks and hasn’t benefited at all. Kangana was even kept out of the promotions for Kites while the whole attention was on Barbara Mori.

Thus, no catwoman stint for Kangana!
Kareena Kapoor: turning 30s thriving!: For Bollywood divas today, turning 30 no longer means pack-up time. The age lines are presently vanishing with girls thriving in their 30s.
One good example is Kareena Kapoor. Despite entering into her 30s, she is packed up by all the Khans in 2012.

Her upcoming projects comprise of “Ra One” opposite Shah Rukh Khan, “Agent Vinod” with beau Saif Ali Khan, “My Love Story” with Salman Khan, “Short-Term Shaadi” with Imran Khan and Reema Kagti’s untitled thriller opposite Aamir Khan.

The list also includes Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan. The duo plays leading ladies in “No One Killed Jessica”.

Rani will also be seen in Reema Kagti’s untitled thriller along with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Vidya Balan on the other hand will be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s “The Dirty Picture” and Sujoy Ghosh’s “Kahani”.
Aishwarya Rai still as brand ambassador of 'L'Oreal': Officials of cosmetic firm L'Oreal Paris have denied reports that Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai has been replaced by Freida Pinto as the new brand ambassador.

Reports of Frieda replacing Aishwarya came up after the Slumdog Millionaire star featured in L'Oreal's 'Happy New Year' television commercial.

"We are shocked and surprised to read in some sections of the media/press about Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being replaced as the face of L'Oreal Paris," said an official statement from the firm.

"L'Oreal Paris strongly reiterates that this is absolutely untrue and that Ms. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues to be our valued spokesperson, as she has since 2000. While she remains an integral part of the L'Oreal Paris world wide Dream Team, she was unfortunately unavailable for our New Year commercial shoot due to prior commitments.

"She is one of the most iconic women of our times and is certainly the face of L'Oreal Paris internationally and in India for a range of products which include campaigns for Total Repair 5, Excellence Crème, Color Riche, Hydrafresh," the statement added.
Hrithik Roshan celebrates 36 birthday today: The year could not have got off to a more rollicking start for Hrithik Roshan. He celebrates his 36th birthday today.

And, yesterday he was crowned The Times' Most Desirable Man of 2010 in an online poll on www.itimes.com driven by zoOm that saw the actor fighting off a stiff challenge from Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor among other macho and, well, desirable Bollywood heroes. I called up Hrithik at night to congratulate him. He was busy putting his kids, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, to bed!

"I do this whenever I am in town because they wait up for me," explained the Most Desirable Man in a hushed voice. He was delighted with the honour, naturally. "It feels great, because last year two of my films didn't do well, to know that I'm still wanted... it's a good feeling," Hrithik admitted. He has his own interpretation of what 'Desirable' means. "I believe I am a reflection of the potential in all of us," he said, "and if you can recognise that in me, then it is upto each one of you to work hard and in a committed and consistent manner to be what you want to be. I am just a symbol, an artist in the business of selling dreams, the manifestation of one who has travelled the mile to achieve what he desires."

This, from an actor who delivered two turkeys at the box-office in 2010. "I have my own theories about Kites and Guzaarish," he said defensively. "I am not disappointed, it was a milestone year, I am filled with a sense of deep gratitude. I took two of the biggest risks. I went where the brave dare not go. With Kites, I tried to cross the language barrier, and I have learned a lesson; but with Guzaarish, I attempted what no star would do, and it was a gratifying experience. I am used to audiences throwing coins, dancing, for my films. Here, at the end they stood up in silence and clapped.

I got teary-eyed hugs in silence from strangers that said beautiful things. I have never had this experience in my 10 years of cinema. I would be ashamed to complain that the film didn't do well. Sometimes art has to exist without profit and loss. I agree, there has to be certain economics to filmmaking, and there's no reason to take this experience and treat it as a failure; because Guzaarish added to people's lives, it changed my life, I have never felt so deeply about any of my previous works. I try to imbibe the positive qualities from all the characters I play. But from Ethan (his character in Guzaarish), I've realised what life is all about. That pain has such a beautiful meaning, that our shortcomings and misery are the wind beneath our wings, they help us to carry on till we get flight."

That Hrithik Roshan is now flying, I have no doubt. He has put 2010 behind him, and this year he has two exciting films to look forward to - Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Karan Johar's remake of Agneepath, both of which have roles he's never done before. "That's how I enjoy my work, I am an extremist, I hate monotony," Hrithik said. In Zindagi..., he plays the guy next door, there's no emotional confrontation, no fight in his life. And life itself is a beautiful journey in Spain with three people discovering themselves. But Agneepath is the other end of the spectrum. "Grit, revenge, emotional turmoil, it's all there," he said with feeling.

But this is also Amitabh Bachchan's 1990 National Award-winning role as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan for Yash Johar in the original film. Big shoes for Hrithik to fill. "It would be stupid, preposterous, for me to suggest that I want to immitate him," Hrithik said. "His was one of the best performances in the history of cinema, and the film is one of my favourites, so I am going to give it my best shot. But our characters in the films are as different as our personalities are. And no way am I going to give anybody reason for comparison. When I signed Jodhaa Akbar, people said I had signed my death sentence, because Akbar was moulded in Prithviraj Kapoor's personality. Even well-wishers cautioned me against taking up the challenge. Eventually, when the film was released, nobody even compared the performance; because Prithviraj was magnificent as Akbar, but Ashutosh Gowarikar's Akbar was endearing and enjoyable as well. Ultimately, you have to trust your director."

He wakes up to a new year, today. In which, he told me at night, he wishes to be "from sunrise to sunset" as healthy, energetic and flexible as he can so that he may "jump on the bed and play with the kids". Which is a strange request from the man rated yesterday by The Times 50 Most Desirable People of 2010 poll as being blessed with "dropdead gorgeous looks and a Greek God body". For which he worksout religiously first thing in the morning and last thing at night. "Why waste the day," Hrithik asked, "I start with cardio, I do some Yoga, stretches that keep my knees and back on track, and at night I do weights. In the middle, I burn calories through my grey cells!" But the wear and tear of being the Most Desirable Man has also taken its toll on Hrithik Roshan. "I don't have the knees I was born with," he laughed, "and it requires about 30 minutes of maintenance daily for me to, well, take this in my stride. But I do it naturally now... it's like brushing my teeth."
Tulip Joshi Cheating case scandal: Film director Sohan Roy said Saturday he has filed a cheating case against Bollywood actress Tulip Joshi for not completing the shooting for his film "Dam 999" despite taking part of her remuneration amounting to Rs.8.5 lakh.

"The actress asked for half of the payment (Rs.7 lakh) before the film. Biz TV Network also paid her Rs.1.5 lakh as the installment for the first schedule. The actress came and shot for two days and then just left. Tulip was asked to return the payment and settle the matter, but we haven't heard from her," said a press release, issued from the office of Roy, along with a copy of the FIR that has been registered at the Kalamassery Police Station.

"Dam 999", a tribute to the victims of the 1975 Banqiao dam disaster in China, is getting closer for release as its shooting has been completed.

It will be released in both English and Malayalam shortly.

The cast includes National Award-winning actor Rajit Kapur, Ashish Vidyarthi, Linda Arsenio, Joshua Fredric Smith, Jaala Pickering, Megha Burman, Vimala Raman, Vinay Rai and Jineet Rath.

Megha Burman has now replaced Tulip Joshi for the role of Razia, a Pakistani character in the film.

The film is produced by Middle East-based Marine BizTV and directed by Roy, CEO of Aries Telecasting Limited, the parent company of Marine BizTV in Dubai.

Tulip is best remembered for her role in "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai", her debut movie opposite Jimmy Shergill.
Katrina Kaif-Priyanka Chopra: still face to face: Bollywood divas Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif are still at loggerheads and this began ever since Katrina replaced Priyanka in the sequel of “Dostana” and the latter replaced the former in Anurag Basu’s “Silence” (now titled Barfee).

They two behaved as strangers recently when they came face to face at an award function. An eyewitness told “Priyanka and Katrina were next to each other for quite some time backstage. Their eyes met, but they did not give each other even a faint smile.”

The source said further, “They behaved like total strangers. There was ample opportunity for both the ladies to at least acknowledge each other’s presence but even that did not happen. Everyone around them noted this.”

The duo kept distance from each other even at the IPL awards.
