Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan fight: will they meet or friends again?: Now, the 17th Star screen Awards held in Mumbai provided a good platform for Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan to meet and be friends again.
The show was anchored by SRK and Shahid Kapoor together, while Salman Khan was supposed to do a dance performance on stage, apart from accept his Best Actor award for which he was nominated.

But instead of giving a live performance, Salman opted for a video recording of the performance which will be added in the final telecast of the award show.

Clearly, it was Salman’s plan not to bump into SRK now that the latter has admitted on a chat show that his spat with Sallu was due to his (SRK’s) fault.

Earlier this week, Salman and SRK almost bumped into each other at the international airport when they arrived from Dubai after New Year celebrations. The two landed in Mumbai on the same day, same time, though in separate chartered planes. And they came out the airport within minutes of each other.

Inexplicably, the twain continues to avoid each other.
Aamir Khan playing on a actual red-light area!: Aamir Khan stayed holed up in a pokey house for a month in downtown Mumbai for wife Kiran Rao’s film Dhobi Ghat. Now, we hear he’s demanded to shoot Reema Kagti’s film, he recently signed, in Mumbai’s red light area.

The yet-untitled movie has Aamir playing a police officer who penetrates the red-light area while working on a case.

A sucker for perfection that he is, Aamir reportedly wants his portions in the film to be shot on actual locations, with real sex workers and pimps.

But director Reema Kagti and co-producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have their apprehensions over Aamir’s demand as such a move might pose security threat to not just the actors but the entire film crew.

The movie also stars Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor. One of the two ladies plays a sex worker.

Since Aamir signs films very selectively, we’re sure Kagti must be having a killer script on her hands.
Bigg Boss Season 4 finale winner?: Only few hours to go before the winner of Bigg Boss Season 4 is announced. This time there is a slight change in the format, so all the participants who are left in the house are the finalists. Ashmit Patel, Shweta Tiwari, Dolly Bindra and The Great Khali - anyone can be the winner.
Salman Khan, the host of the show, is also eager to be back on the show’s fifth season as well. But for now Salman is concentrating on the finale as he will perform to Humka Peeni Hai from Dabangg and other hits. It’s learnt that the actor is really happy with the way the show has shaped up and the kind of response it received.

Other participants of the show like Veena Malik, Hrishant Goswami, Sara Khan and Aanchal Kumar will also perform at the finale.

Let’s see who stands the best chance to win the Bigg Boss this year:
'My Name Is Khan' nominate for Oscar Award!: Though a nomination is still a far cry, Karan Johar’s film My Name Is Khan is in the race for the 83rd Academy Awards.

Online Watch ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ trailer: After proving her acting mettle with a slew of challenging roles, Kangana Ranaut will begin this year on a comic note as a bold small-town girl who loves to get drunk in the comedy film Tanu Weds Manu.

Directed by Aanand Rai, the film tells the story of a sweet and shy NRI doctor, played by Madhavan, who comes to the city of Kanpur to marry a simple girl, played by Kangana.

But the seedhi-saadi Kangana is a bold lassie, nowhere close to being simple; instead, she is brash, loves alcohol (neat) and hates arrange marriages.(Check the first poster)

Tanu Weds Manu is a funny story from the Indian heartland. It’s about two families and two completely different individuals. Marriages are made in heaven! Though the road to heaven might be a little “tedha”, says the movie’s tagline.

Now here we catch the movie trailer and don’t miss Kangana mouthing some witty dialogues.
Best Actor Star Screen award goes to 'Salman Khan': It was an almost clean sweep by Dabangg at the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards. Though it couldn’t win the Best Film trophy, its lead actor Salman Khan won the Best Actor honours.

First week into the New Year, Bollywood has already begun awarding the best talents and films of 2010. Held at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex, the 17th annual Star Screen Awards was a gala night with performances from many stars, including Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu.

The highlight of the evening was Shahrukh Khan who anchored the show along with Shahid Kapoor. The duo had everyone in splits with their banter and jokes.

Vikramditya Motwane’s small-budget film that got rave reviews, Udaan, was awarded the Best Film trophy. Motwane also won the Best Director award. Salman Khan pipped Shahrukh Khan to grab the Best Actor (Male) award but SRK did win the Best Actor by Popular Choice (Male) award for his performance in My Name Is Khan.

Vidya Balan was named the Best Actor (Female) for her performance in Ishqiya, and Katrina Kaif won the Best Actor Popular Choice (Female) for her role in Raajneeti.

Ajay Devgan, who starred in three hit films in 2010 was named the Best Performer.

Ranveer Singh, of Band Baaja Baaraat won the Most Promising Newcomer (Male) award and Sonakshi Sinha was named the best debutante for Dabangg.
'No One Killed Jessica' Review - Rani, Vidya play a lead role: Manish Bhardwaj (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub) wasn’t No One. A pampered son a politician and therefore high on the sense of power that comes with such pedigree, he cold bloodedly gunned down Jessica (Myra), a model doubling as bartender in an elite Delhi restaurant, with a dozen witnesses to the crime, just because she refused to serve him a drink.

A clear open and shut case it was, or could have been. But Manish’s powerful dad, egged on by the murder’s mother’s constant whine “mere Monu ko kucch nahin hona chahiye” no less than by his blind parental love, pulls the strings, coerces witnesses and manipulates the system to get his pyara beta and his accomplices acquitted. Scot free goes the killer, cocking a snook at everyone with his system-mocking impunity.

Not done, cries Meera Gaity (Rani Mukherjee), a feisty news reporter and anchor given to hardball journalism and smoking ciggies and mouthing profanities, not excluding the F word and the desi G word. Joining forces with Jessica’s sister Sabrina (Vidya Balan) who’s been running pillar to post to seek justice for her dead sister and also taking care of her frail parents, Meera sets out to set the wrong right. “Justice has been denied and I can’t live with it,” she yells at her boss, perched doggedly on his car’s bonnet.

And that’s what the film is primarily about: turning the tables on the powers-that-be and giving the aam aadmi one last say.

No one among us, I’m sure, is unaware of the Jessica Lal case on which the film is based. Perhaps that was the root of a niggling apprehension I had before watching No One Killed Jessica. After all what’s the point of making a film now that justice has been done and the killer is wasting away his youth and mid-age behind bars, not considering the one stray parole he got in 2009 to perform the last rites of his grandmother but was caught clubbing. If the objective of the film was mere documentation of what happened in the Jessica case, one might have better browsed through the archives of national newspapers, the headline of one having inspired the film’s title. But no. No One Killed Jessica goes beyond that. It provides a recollection to the - pardon the cliché - ‘collective conscience’ of us as a society that the gun-toting brats with influential papas and mollycoddling mommies can’t have their way if we the people, including the media, set out to see that justice is done.

Kudos to director Rajkumar Gupta - delivering another ace after his debut film Aamir - for making a brave film that keeps you hooked for the most part, dipping only slightly in the second half when it stretches on needlessly. Most impressive is his re-sketch of the entire Jessica case, with characters plucked literally out of real life and their names changed only for storytelling reasons. The witnesses turning hostile, the journalist who’s covered the Kargil war, the defence lawyer, the swish set of Delhi (caricaturized more than they should’ve have been) one after another proclaiming to have seen ‘nothing’ on that fateful night - we all know who these folks are and connecting the dots here can be a sweet sadistic exercise.

No One Killed Jessica rests equally on acting performances as on its director’s storytelling skills. Rani Mukherjee is back. Those who had written her career obit will need to do some rethinking. In a performance, that goes hardly over the top given the character’s sketch, Rani breathes fire, kicks arses, and ah! is totally at home in shooting off cuss words. Vidya Balan comes up with a restrained performance, befitting her character. Neil Bhoopalam (as key witness) and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub as the killer Manish leave their mark.

Amit Trivedi’s music, particularly the ‘Dilli Dilli’ number, stands out and so does Anay Goswami’s camerawork.

Never preachy, never facetious despite having sufficient doses of satiric humour, No One Killed Jessica is a film that everyone but kids below 18 must watch. If you are looking for a piece of good cinema with some goose bumpy moments, this is it.
