Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan now in three films together!: They first shared their on-screen space five years ago in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Sarkar’. Since then Bollywood has been many have been wondering when this on-screen pair would return.
Now Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif are about to reunite as an on-screen pair in almost three films. They have signed Tarun Mansukhani’s 'Dostana 2' which would be followed by Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy and Vipul Shah’s next.
Abhishek–Katrina in comedies Director Rajkumar Santoshi is quite well known for his quirky comedies.
After ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani,' Santoshi is back with yet another comedy film starring Abhishek and Katrina in the lead.
Santoshi says, “I am really looking forward to directing him [Abhishek] for the first time. There's a very mischievous side to his personality, which has not been tapped in any film. When I wrote this script I thought of him immediately."
Again Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham will play lead characters in the gay-comedy ‘Dostana 2.’ Katrina Kaif has also been signed in to play the love interest of the two characters in the film.
Produced by Karan Johar, ’Dostan 2’ might release in the second half of this year.
Katrina eager to work with Junior B Earlier gossip columns were abuzz with rumors that Katrina had refused to act opposite Abhishek in Abbas-Mustan’s official remake of ‘Italian Job’ and had left the project citing date problems.
But now after signing consecutive films with Abhishek, Katrina has put all rumors to rest about her being reluctant to work with Junior B.
Katrina says, "I had done one of my earliest films (Sarkar) with Abhishek. And it was great fun. Somehow subsequent projects didn't work out.”
She feels that she hardly knows Abhishek as both were complete different persons when they had first shared their screen space in ‘Sarkar’.
Katrina says, “Now that we’ll be doing so much work together I guess the process of getting to know one another will happen automatically.”
Aishwarya Rai is in the fruit basket: 'Aishwarya' will now adorn your fruit basket. Grafting expert and Padmashree horticulturist Haji Kaleemullah Khan has developed a sweeter variety of guava and named it after Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.
The new variety of guava resembles an apple in texture and is more sweet smelling and pulpier. "The new variety of guava is very different in taste, smell and look from the traditional and normal varieties grown in the country," said Kaleemullah.
According to Kaleemullah, the biggest advantage of this variety is that it has soft seeds.
"It took almost eight years to develop this unique variety of guava and no chemical fertiliser or pesticide was used in developing the same," he said.
The horticulturist, who is based in the mango-belt of Malihabad, said that to keep the product totally organic, neem oil was used as a pesticide.
"All measures were taken to ensure that the product is free from any possible side effect which chemical fertiliser or pesticide may have on fruits," he said.
Pointing out that the plant which bears fruits round the year is highly productive, Kaleemullah said, "One can get as many as 72 fruits on a 3.7 foot long tree".
Kaleemullah is known for growing unique variety of fruits especially mangoes.
In May last year, the 70-year-old Khan grafted a new variety of mango, which he named after batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
"I am a 7th standard dropout and have been looking after the family business since 1957. My family's record in this business goes back to 150 years. I am more interested in developing different varieties on a single tree and began the multiple grafting process," he said.
Kaleemullah won the Padmashree for growing more than 300 varieties of mangoes of different shapes and sizes on one tree.
The tree is about 100 years old and he started working on it in 1987 to develop the craft of growing different varieties on one tree.
He had also developed a variety of mango and named it after Aishwarya.
"The 'Anarkali' variety of mango which I developed had two different types of fruit peel, with two layers of pulp having totally different taste," he said.

17th Star Screen Awards 2011 nominations list: The nominations for the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards throw up a few surprises. For instance, Dabangg and My Name Is Khan, two blockbusters of 2010, are missing from the Best Film nominations.
However, both Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are, as expected, contending in the Best Actor category for their performances in aforementioned movies. Interestingly, Rishi Kapoor is also nominated in the same category for his performance in the small-budget film Do Dooni Char. In the Best Director category, too, Abhinav Kashyap and Karan Johar are missing. Rather, Maneesh Sharma has made it for his direction in Band Baaja Baaraat.

Imran Khan's wedding Party held on Jan 8: Ahead of his wedding on January 10, actor Imran Khan will host a mehendi-cum-reception party to which he has invited all his leading ladies apart from other Bollywood A-listers.
The actresses are really going out of their way to be a part of it except for Katrina and Sonam who have dropped out due to prior work commitments. Imran is all set to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend and fiancee Avantika Malik on January 10.
The wedding party has been planned for January 8. Sources close to the actor said Imran wants to invite all his friends to be part of the celebrations.
"The invitations have reached everyone and the guest list is quite a long one. Imran wanted to invite all the leading ladies of his films to be part of the most important day of his life. Unfortunately, Katrina Kaif will shoot with Imran for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan only till January 6. She will not attend his party, as she has some work commitments.
Also Sonam Kapoor, Imran's I Hate Luv Storys co-star, is also flying out of the country to start shooting for Thank You and hence will not attend his party.
However, Genelia D'souza, the actor's first co-star, is in town, so she will attend the party. Kareena Kapoor his co-star in Short Term Shaadi, is currently taking a break from her work schedule to be with Saif but she too will cut short her vacation to attend the bash.
Kareena, who was initially scheduled to return only around January 14, wants to be with Imran on his big day.
Deepika Padukone, Imran's 'Break Ke Baad' co-star, is vacationing in UK and she too will cut short her vacation to attend his party in Mumbai, sources close to the actor said.

King SRK to work with Hrithik Roshan in Krrish 2?: Shahrukh Khan seems to be in love with action genre. After his home production Ra.One and his upcoming release Don 2, the actor will reportedly be seen in the sequel to the 2006 superhit film Krrish. According to reports circulating in the media, Shahrukh is joining the star cast of Krrish 2 as one of the film’s negative characters. Though nothing has been confirmed on an official basis, with director Rakesh Roshan refusing to comment, a source has revealed that SRK has given the nod to do the film under the condition that the Hrithik Roshan starrer releases after his own superhero flick Ra.One.
Media speculations say that it is the new-found friendship between the actors that has culminated into their association in Krrish 2. While Shahrukh and Hrithik Roshan had been termed as rivals during the start of the latter’s career in Bollywood, all the rivalry is a thing of the past. Gauri Khan and Sussanne Roshan, the wives of the stars, are very close friends and it is they who keep their husbands bound to one another.
Shahrukh has been heard praising the acting skills of Hrithik Roshan especially after his performance in Guzaarish. Hrithik Roshan too makes it a point to seek the advice of his senior on professional matters. Also, both families are regularly spotted at each other’s parties.

Akshay Kumar love to work again with Farah Khan: Even after the failure of 'Tees Maar Khan' and a number of flops last year, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar still holds a lot of confidence in filmmakers he has worked with and hopes to create box-office success this year. After his last release Farah’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ received a lukewarm response at the box-office, it’s learnt that the actor is still keen to work with the filmmaker.
Talking about Farah, Akshay stated, “A film may or may not click for several reasons, so Fridays do not decide my equations with anyone. I still believe that Farah’s one of the best film-makers in Bollywood and I’d love to work with her again.”
Akshay in Farah’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ sequel Interestingly, it’s also been rumored that Akshay would be seen in the sequel of ‘Tees Maar Khan’ and when the actor was asked about this, he stated that if that happens he would be happy to work in the sequel.
“I'm looking forward to working with her again. She's a tough taskmaster. Men are scared of her. So am I. She speaks her mind no matter what the consequences. She wasn't making a film to win the National award. She made a commercial film,” stated Akki.
Akshay is waiting to work with Sonakshi Akshay, who has given several hit films with Katrina Kaif, is now looking forward to his fresh pairing with Sonakshi in Shrish’s ‘Joker’.
After seeing her ‘Dabangg’ performance, Akshay was impressed with her acting talent and he revealed that it didn’t look like it was her first film.
"I saw her in Dabangg. It didn't look like her first film. She was so confident. She complemented Salman perfectly. I hope we look as good together,” stated Akshay.
Speaking about Shirish’s ‘Joker’, Akshay stated that he would be co-producing the film with Shirish who will be directing it.
Speculation is rife that the film revolves around the circus, however, Akshay rejected those rumors and revealed that film has nothing to with the circus.
Prakash Jha's 'Satsang' to inspire Katrina Kaif: Katrina Kaif has her kitty full for the year 2011, and has all the reasons to be happy. Though the critics have slammed her latest release ‘Tees Maar Khan’ but the box-office collection has something else to say. Also she is quite busy with her upcoming films and has already bagged another commercial film ‘Joker’, which will be Farah Khan’s next venture.
Now while all these commercial, over the top films are keeping her busy, her acting ability has impressed Prakash Jha quite a lot to have offered her a role in his next venture ‘Satsang’. Everyone saw Kat in a different kind of role in Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’ and people applauded the actress for her histrionics, now she is going to challenge herself for Jha’s next.
According to Kaif, this role will be the most challenging one she has done so far and have to put in quite a lot in preparing for the role. Though Katrina won’t be the central character in the film but her one will be an important part. For ‘Satsang’ the glam actress has to don the ochre robe and have to face the camera sans makeup. Jha has explained to her the intricacy of the role as well as the complexity of the religious industry that operates in India.
